1: DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!! After missing getting my races into the FRA Handbook 2023, I worked hard to ensure that our 5 races would be listed in the 2024 Handbook and thought that everything had been arranged through the Association but alas, something went wrong.

Here are the dates and we are hoping that they will eventually appear on the FRA site :

 PEAT PIT WOODS 1 FELL RACE  –  SUNDAY 31 MARCH  11am

PEAT PIT WOODS 2 FELL RACE  - SUNDAY 12 MAY   11.30am

BLUEBELL 1 FELL RACE  -  SUNDAY 17 MARCH  10am

BLUEBELL 2 FELL RACE  -  THURSDAY 15 AUGUST   7.30pm

BLUEBELL 3 FELL RACE  -  FRIDAY 13 SEPTEMBER  6.15pm

As many of you are members of running clubs, we would ask that consideration be given to featuring one or more of the events in your club’s internal fell championships.

The races have always been friendly and enjoyable and are not too difficult with NO serious climbs as you may get in events in the Peak District, Scotland etc.

For the road runners amongst you, the next Derby Midweek Races will be held on Wednesday 17 January 2024 from 7pm. Details are on www.runningwithdavid.com.

2: Here are the dates for the revised 2024 TOUR of the DERWENT VALLEY back on the running calendar after a couple of years : SATURDAY 25 to MONDAY 27 MAY 2024.

From this year, there will be 3 races starting on Saturday afternoon. It is likely that the venues will remain unchanged but we are planning to review, and possibly change some of the courses..
